It started with a single poster: a souvenir from a trip to Kiev, Ukraine. Over the last few years, we’ve explored many of the countries that make up the former USSR - form far-flung frozen villages in Kazakhstan, to boiling backstreet bazaars in Georgia. As our horizons expanded, so did our collection. Soon, it grew into Comrade Kiev.

We’ve curated some of the most striking, original communist posters around. Their combination of vivid iconography and a simple message inspired, united and uplifted a nation of 300 million.
